History Day

National History Day:

Each year more than half a million students participate in the National History Day Contest. Students choose a historical topic related to the annual theme, and then conduct primary and secondary research. You will look through libraries, archives and museums, conduct oral history interviews, and visit historic sites. After you have analyzed and interpreted your sources, and have drawn a conclusion about the significance of your topic, you will then be able to present your work in one of five ways: as a paper, an exhibit, a performance, a documentary, or a website.

Fresno County History Day:

Fresno County History Day is a unique opportunity for 4th - 12th grade students to research and present personally meaningful topics relating to an annual theme and examine history in a fun and challenging way.  Student winners in each category (2-dimensional display, exhibits, historical papers, websites, documentaries, and performances) will move on to the State competition, with the potential to qualify for National History Day.

Navelencia History Day:

Navelencia Middle School students will have an opportunity to participate in their own research and present their projects relating to the annual theme. Students projects will be judged based on the rubric and criteria set aside by FCOE History Day event organizers and the winners will present their projects at Fresno Pacific University's main campus.
